In case of rental contracts with condition "excl. additional costs " (i.e. gas, electricity, water/sewage and waste basic charge) the tenant is obliged to contact Stadtwerk Winterthur, Untere Vogelsangstrasse 11, 8400 Winterthur, Tel. 052 267 61 61, stadtwerk@win.ch and let them know his new address immediately after the move-in. When leaving the accommodation, the final account must be asked for the day of the move-out. The costs are billed directly through Stadtwerke and have to be paid to them directly. In case of a living community (e.g. Jägerstrasse, ZHW, Minicamps, Rosenberg, Grünweg etc.), these costs can also be addressed to one or 2 persons only for being the representatives of the whole community. The people involved are then responsible themselves to share their costs among themselves correctly.

Free internet access (plug'n'play) @ Camp AXA, Maximus & Rosenberg - How to connect my system with the internet: The only thing you need to have is a 5e S/FTP patch cable (CHF 10 to 20, depending on cable length) to connect the PC/Laptop with the port (the RJ-45 socket at Maximus is located on the bottom side of the silver coloured cable channnel which is fixed in front of every rooms' windowsill). Just plug it in and start windows. The computer will automatically detect a new component and does all the necessairy steps to connect you with the internet by itself. No need to plug any modem, router etc.
Problem with electronic devices - You may have connected a powerboard which does not meet the Swiss standard of 220 Volts. You must buy a new Swiss powerboard and put adapter plugs between each device you want it to operate correctly. There is a Saturn media shop next to the central station. You should be able to find everything you need out there.

How can I get access to the FITNESSROOM at Camp Maximus?
The fitness facility can only be entered by using a badge. You can buy this badge at the housekeeping office (Camp Maximus, Groundfloor, Room 11) or at the administration (Camp Maximus, Groundfloor, Room 10) as follows:
a) You have a ZHAW badge - in this case we can program it - it will cost CHF 20 handling fee
b) You have no badge - in this case we give you a SWOWI card - this will cost CHF 20 handling fee + CHF 20 deposit
The using of the facility is free of charge for all residents of any SWOWI Camp. The bagde will be programmed to allow 50 entries. After the credit expired, the card can be reloaded with 50 entries again. This service is free of charge.
When your rental contract is finished and you leave your accomodation, you must return the card in order to receive your deposit back.
If you are a student who wants to use the fitnessroom but you are not living in a SWOWI Camp, we can give you access though, but you will have to pay per use. Each entrance will cost CHF 5, the minimum selling unit is 10 entries + deposit + handling fee = CHF 90. After the credit expired, the card can be reloaded again. The minimum quanity will be 10 entries again. No handling fees will be charged for reloading process.
The usage of the machinery is on your own risk! The room must be left in clean condition and tidy as you entered it. Any damages or defects on the facility have to be reported to the housekeeping department immediately.
Guide for students that are about to come by car and want to have their vehicle parked nearby the accommodation during the stay:
|
1) |
for Camps with their own parking lots (as shown on the frontpage of the contract), rental is possible through SWOWI
(subject to availability) |
|
2) |
for Camps without their own parking the cars must be left on public ground within the framed areas as follows. |
|
|
a) |
Short-term parking zone (blue zone): During working days between 8 a.m. and 11.30 a.m. and between 1.30 p.m. and 6 p.m. it is allowed to
leave the car for one hour. The arrow of the parking disc must be positioned to the nextfollowing line after arrival, that means the
maximum parking time can be up to as much as 90 minutes if you arrive at .31 and adjust it as described. BTW: Saturday is also meant to be a working day. During noon (11.30-13.30) and nighttime (19.00-08.00) there is no limit for parking in the blue zone: There is no need to put a parking disc on Sundays and public holidays in general, furthermore not between 19h00 and 08h00 on working days. Until 8 a.m. of the next following working day the car is allowed to be left. |
|
|
b) |
Blue zones within residential areas can be used for an indefinite period if the car is equipped with a resident permit card. Such can be obtained at the local police head office, subject to be officially registered by the domestic registration office as a resident living in the area concerned. |

The location of our Camps are related to following zones: Camp Adlergarten (Adlerstrasse) and AXA (Gärtnerstrasse/St. Gallerstrasse) = Zone P Camp Eckstrasse = Zone L (left-hand, area Schaffhauser- / Bachtelstrasse) or Zone H (right-hand, area Lind- / Rychenbergstrasse) Camp Jägerstrasse = no resident permit cards available (look for white zone instead - see next paragraph c) Camp Schützenstrasse = Zone I Camp Türmlihuus & ZHW (Technikumstrasse) = Zone Teuchelweiher The resident permit card is valid for 1 year (6 months on request) and is amounting to CHF 50.- (resp. 35.- semestral). Following conditions are required: - Personal attendance at the local police headoffice Obertor 17 - Passport or ID - Vehicle license - Driving license - If the car is hired from somebody else: Written authorization from the owner - Confirmation of residence from the local authorities (Einwohnerkontrolle Winterthur) - Copy of the SWOWI rental contract - Completely filled form "Nachtparkgebühr" (see link below: nightparking application form) In addition to the fee for the residents' permit card the nightparking charge is to be paid. Each vehicle that is left regularly on public domain during the night (blue and white zones) is getting charged with CHF 35 per month. The invoice will be sent by the city office to the address of the permission card owner and is issued for 6 months subject to advance payment. The nightparking charge is due in general, no matter if any resident permission card was issued or not. It is strongly recommended to apply the form "Nachtparkgebühr" on time and to arrange the necessary steps voluntary as the city authorities are running nighttime inspections by checking their database with number plates of the cars that are parked and imposing fines to the ones that did not follow the rules. Defaulters will be quickly determined and punished. |

c) |
White zones: Parking is possible without any limitation. But watch out !!! Make sure you distinguish clearly
between the white framed fields that are for free and the same coloured ones that do have a parking ticket dispenser.
In this case you have to pay ... unfortunately. Nighttime parking is subject to the same regulations as described under paragraph b). |
